According to defensenews, Israel will take delivery of the first Sa’ar 6 class corvette in December 2020. Israel ordered four Sa’ar 6 class corvettes in 2015, as part of a widespread change in naval doctrine.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the new corvettes will protect more marine areas, a wider range, and longer operating times. IDF expects that Sa’ar 6 will protect the offshore infrastructure, with an area twice as large as Israel’s mainland territory. The discovery of natural gas reserves, coupled with Israel’s desire to protect its exclusive economic zone, were the main drivers behind the decision to order the Sa’ar 6 class corvettes.
The Sa’ar 6class corvette was built in Germany, based on the German Braunschweigclass corvette. Technical changes will be applied to accommodate the sensors and weapon systems produced by Israel.

It boasts business aviation’s most spacious cabin and can fly farther, and faster, than any other competitor in the businessjet industry. Equipped with the allnew RollsRoyce Pearl 700 engines, and an advanced highspeed wing design, the G700 is able to fly at a recordbreaking speed (Mach .925) and range with outstanding efficiency.
The G700 cockpit features the awardwinning Symmetry Flight Deck, with active control sidesticks. The cockpit has done away with most buttons and replaced them with a clean touchscreen design on all panels.
Qatar Executive, the private jet arm of Qatar Airways, is the launch customer of G700. The executive charter service provider has ordered 10 of the world’s largest business jets, taking delivery of the very first aircraft off the Gulfstream assembly line in Georgia, US in 2022.
