Cash versus Futures in Spread Betting and CFD Trading http://www.financialspreadbetting.com/WallStreetfuture.html PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! What is the difference between cash and futures markets? When you go to a trading platform its common to see the ‘Cash’ or ‘Daily’ and ‘Futures’ how are these different? Cash versus Futures is different in the underlying. How the Futures price is calculated is different in the underlying market compared to how they calculate the Cash price.
If you want to trade the FTSE 100 you have the ‘Cash’ price which is calculated on the official index price the one you see in newspapers that is calculated by a group of FTSE 100 stocks, they are weighted by market capitalisation. Unfortunately you can’t trade the actual ‘cash price’ but you can trade the futures price which is adjusted to give it a level that it is almost like the cash price.
The futures price is based on that but with different parameters. This takes into account the time to expiry, interest rates. You can of course trade the futures directly. For FTSE it is Z, For Dow it is YM, for S\u0026P 500 it is ES
