   As a data analyst, I can say that doing such things as a job is really a lot of fun. Its like detective work… you get a bunch of numbers (meaningless numbers, mostly) but then you get to use your tools to see what most people don't see, and to make sense of them and help others do the same. Then you get to change how people think 🙂

18. Data visualization can change anyone's perspective. No matter how complex the data is, simple diagrams always makes it easier to understand and convey the message effectively.

21. but… isn't simplifying things dangerous? look at the political view map, definitely telling something, giving an idea but also creating a sort of bottleneck. it's definitely not all the aspects of it but after this map all of us will simplify the idea. the situations, people, history created that image not the other way around but now we all gonna forget the data behind this map instead, this map will be our only reality. after some point it will fail for detailed, edge situations. it's rewriting the truth and it can't be whole of it. things are never simple. never!

24. Simply put, data visualization puts visual perspective on the magnitude of data. For example, one could compare data [I've made up these numbers, by the way] showing that deaths from ideological terror attacks are up 40%! and yet are only 5% as many as deaths from car accidents, which are down 3%. We are often led to fear one more than the other. Chevys are more dangerous than Shiites! Lol
