In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on Acute Ischemic Stroke: Etiology, Pathophysiology, Clinical Features, Diagnostics, and Treatment. This lecture will include detailed information on the causes (etiology) for acute ischemic strokes including embolic, thrombotic and global hypoperfusion. We will also be discussing the most common clinical features that patients present with along with how an acute ischemic stroke is diagnosed. Finally, we conclude the lecture with the treatment / management of acute ischemic stroke along with indications and contraindications of tPA (tissue plasminogen activator).
