Kardex é um sistema simples de gerenciamento de estoque, baseado em fichas de fácil visualização. Essa metodologia era usada para organizar por assunto, título ou cliente o inventário de almoxarifados, armazéns, fichas de pacientes em hospitais e muito mais.
O ponto principal desse sistema é a sua visualização simples, disponibilizando os dados como nome, descrição, quantidade, validade e outros, de forma única para cada item. O seu conceito é que cada produto tenha um cadastro associado ou uma ficha para acompanhamento.
Esse método foi um dos primeiros a ser utilizado para monitoramento e controle de estoque. E pelo fato de ser bastante simples, esse conceito de armazenamento em fichas, ainda é utilizado, mesmo que de forma adaptada pelos sistemas de Gestão.
O Sistema Kardex, apesar de não ser exclusivo, é mais indicado para empresas que possuem um estoque pequeno que geralmente trabalham com níveis de estoque suficientes somente para atender a demanda durante um determinado período de tempo.

ASRS Automated Shuttle XP Vertical Lift Module by KardexRemstar
The Kardex Remstar Shuttle XP Vertical Lift Module provides highdensity storage in a compact footprint with fast access to stored materials. The Shuttle XP automatically delivers large trays with stored parts to an access window with a push of a button. The storage machine will automatically scan the height of the item to be stored and then store the tray within the Shuttle to maximize storage. Inside the Shuttle, trays are stored on both sides of the unit with an extractor device that travels up and down the center of the Shuttle to store and retrieve trays.
Utilizing overhead space, the Shuttle recovers up to 85% of the floorspace required by conventional shelving systems. The Shuttle delivers parts directly to the worker to increase picking productivity up to 2/3 and improve ergonomics and worker safety.
