  1. Hi, i've been taking losartan for almost 6 months now and my doctor just told me to cut the 25 mg into two, it's like 12.5 every morning. Is that okay?

  3. So why do we have to avoid potassium supplements and salts when taking losartan? I make smoothies with kale, spinach, green apples, celery, ginger, and orange juice! All of these have potassium … Please reply to me🙏

  5. On the 50 mg dose 3 weeks in and experiencing daytime fatigue…not severe, but enough to make a nap necessary, and dragging the rest of the day. Does the fatigue disapate?

  6. I forgot to add another big symptom of Losartan that I have – shortness of breath sometimes, especially when having stomach and back pain -even before doing any activity. Tingly toes and toe padding under feet might be some damage already, possibly from another BP medication.

  7. I was put on higher dose of Losartan to 100mg from taking 75mg (1.5 pills of the 50mg before). I have every listed side effect and then some, but it was unbearable with the higher dose. Dose kept getting upped because my blood pressure was not really coming down. When I felt at my worst with the 100mg, I wrote down all symptoms before checking out side effects online and then after reading that, I realized I was not about to die, but having whammy side effects. I had to go back to 75mg because stomach and back hurt so much I couldn't do even mild work at home (retired). My doctors took every blood and urine test (inside arm still bruised from last ones 4 days ago. Tests were always inconclusive so I started doing my own diagnosis because could not live this way. I was always active and busy and these pills (and other previous similar blood pressure pills) all had different side effects, so was not used to all those symptoms happening at once.
Headaches, stuffy and or runny nose, coughing and lightheaded when I cough, scratchy throat, probably weight gain because I do not eat enough to be this fat, stomach cramps, diarrhea, some bloating, insomnia (4.5 hours average interrupted sleep a night) so I'm also irritable, cranky, fatigued, and tired. Also have BIG middle, lower, or back side pains (around kidney area) that move location on different days, muscle aches, some swelling some days at ankles, shoulder and neck ache probably from coughing too much and tensing up, calf and back thigh cramps if I stretch, and my blood pressure was higher when I took the increased dose of 100mg. Now that I have gone back to 75mg, my BP reading is lower. I'd love to have the guts to test my theory that if I went off all medication that my BP would go even lower.
Why do some doctors look for the least likely ailments first instead of looking at medication side effects. My troubles are from head to toe, so it was impossible to pinpoint a diagnosis of what could be wrong with me. If a doctor is going to ask me how I feel well, I tell him. So then the lab testing starts…
Since I'm an amateur DIYer, and YouTube and I fix all of my appliances, lawn tractor, etc. I used same process in diagnosing MY equipment. What has changed in my life to make me feel this cruddy? Well, dose was increased 2 weeks before and that addition of 25mg hit me with a vengeance. As much as I believe I have excellent doctors (Clinic situation where you get one of a team of doctors examining separately and later hopefully consulting together). They call me for appointments because they do not renew a prescription unless there is a consultation. I'd rather be left in peace because I get re-evaluated, medication gets fine tuned, and I then feel even worse!
I have copied a trusted webpage with side effects of this drug and also typed out a page listing my ailments that should completely match up what I have told each doctor (and each have made their own notes on my file) at my last 2 appointments and this should match the side effects page. I'm sure they were at a loss trying to diagnose why I felt so awful because the symptoms were so varied. My next appointment is in a few days to talk about those last lab tests. At that time I will hand the doctor who is at Clinic that day my 2 sheets of info. and I hope they realize that they sometimes can't see the forest for the trees and learn something. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple, stupid. Sometimes it just takes a bit of common sense to solve a problem.
