What is a digital economy?

A digital economy is powered by the Internet and digital technologies and allows anyone to participate from anywhere. It refers to the devices most of us use each day such as computers, tablets and smart phones. It includes the online maps we consult, goods we purchase, the web searches that we do to find information and our electronic banking. In a Digital Economy, businesses and individuals are creating innovating and growing new business opportunities faster than ever before.
