  1. All of these are spot on but what about follow through and dependability with an account? All these things get you in the door and help make a good first impression and build a relationship but follow through and solving customers problems especially when they are at a point of giving up is what builds trust and brand loyalty. What’s the point of building a big book of business if you can’t maintain it and grow it? You should be seen as a strategic partner who they count on for great insights on products and innovative processes, not just a fun charismatic person they like having stop by to drop off samples and take orders. In my ten years experience it’s doing the dirty work and getting in the thick of things to prove your credibility that’s most impactful on your career. Couple this with being authentic/ unique person you will be an unstoppable monster. Best part is once your name spreads around, since business owners all know each other Your business will work for itself sort of like word of mouth with a realtor. You will have to do very little prospecting and will still have a calendar full of appointments and a huge excited pipeline. Bottom line… be yourself, take a few hours extra week to learn your products and services, follow through, oh yeah and like this video said TAKE RISKS!!!

  2. Thanks, Warwick Brown for this good video. I think the credibility of Accounts Manager becomes the most critical element in the entire scenario, maybe at the cost of some sales as well. By any chance, if your client comes to know that you have foregone your sales for the sake of looking after his business, rest assured lifetime relationship and business is guaranteed. So, sometimes short term gain has to be lost for a long term relationship.

  7. Great insight Warwick! Technical skills can be learned in onboarding and throughout the job. However, intangible skills like leadership and charisma are crucial for top performance.
